SBU CI detained a minor agent of Russian special services who was looking for performers for terrorist acts in Ukraine from the EU.

The detention of the suspect took place on the western border of our country, where he was taken by Polish law enforcement officers in connection with his forced return to the territory of Ukraine.

The investigation revealed that the Russian accomplice is a 16-year-old Kharkiv resident who left for the European Union in the fall of 2024.

While there, he began to look for "easy money" in Telegram channels, where he came to the attention of Russian special services. After recruiting the young man, the enemy instructed him to look for potential perpetrators of contract terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine.

Having found the "candidates", the offender put them in direct contact with Russian special services, who instructed them.

Two of the agents he recruited were 15-year-old residents of Kharkiv, who in December 2024 carried out bombings near police stations in the Sloboda and Kholodnohirskyi districts of the city.

At the time, the girl took an improvised explosive device (IED) from a cache, and the boy made another IED on his own and stuffed it with metal nuts. They then planted the explosives at the sites of the planned attacks.

The tandem agents were detained immediately after Russian special services remotely activated the hidden IEDs.

It was also established that the underage resident engaged his 21-year-old acquaintance, a native of frontline Kostiantynivka, to carry out another explosion.

At the beginning of this year, she arrived in Odesa region, rented an apartment, where she made an IED from plastid and planted it near the administrative building of the shopping center. Law enforcement officers then detained the suspect red-handed, preventing a terrorist attack.

Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators classified the crimes of the Russian agent brought from the EU under Part 5 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding in the commission of terrorist acts by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).

The offender is in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.

He performed missions in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions as part of a mortar platoon of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Unfortunately, on February 7, 2024, Oleksandr Prytyka died. He is survived by his parents, sister, wife and three children.
