Today, along with others, we remember the Ukrainian Hero Danylo Shapovalov from Donetsk region.

He was in the 11th grade when the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers began. In the fall of 2022, the boy entered Kostiantyniv Higher Vocational School and chose to become a car mechanic. In an effort to master the profession in practice, he found a service station himself, where he helped repair cars from morning to evening.

In the spring of 2024, after receiving his diploma, Danylo volunteered to go to the military enlistment office. Despite initial refusals, he went to military training in September and signed a contract upon his return.

He began his service in the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after Hero of Ukraine Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov of the 81st Airborne Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a senior rifleman. Since the end of October, he has already performed combat missions in Luhansk and Donetsk regions. He was very proud to be defending Ukraine.

Unfortunately, on November 26, 2024, the car Danylo was in was hit by an enemy drone. In the decisive moments, he managed to shield his comrades, saving their lives at the cost of his own...

Now he is 20 years old forever...

May the Hero and all the defenders of Ukraine rest in peace!
