SBU military counterintelligence and investigators have sentenced two more traitors who fought against Ukraine on the side of Russian military groups to real terms of imprisonment.

The Defense Forces captured both criminals after fighting on the Liman and Siverskyi directions.

Among the convicts is a 39-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied Sorokyne in Luhansk region who went to the city of Vladimir in Russia and signed a contract with the aggressor country's Ministry of Defense.

There he was enlisted as a rifleman in the 37th motorized rifle regiment of the Russian Federation. After a short combat training at a training center, he participated in the capture of the village of Zelena Dolyna.

Another traitor is also a resident of the temporarily occupied Luhansk region who joined the 7th motorized rifle brigade of the Rashists. In the ranks of the enemy group, he was appointed a machine gunner and sent to the front line.

Fleeing from the battlefield near the village of Verkhnokamianske, the occupiers left their accomplice alone at the positions where he was later captured.

Based on the evidence collected by SBU investigators, the court found the offenders guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

◾ Art. 111, paras. 1, 2 Art. 111 (high treason)
◾ part 7 of Article 111-1 (collaboration).

The investigation was conducted jointly with the SBU investigators in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.

SBU detained another FSB agent in Poltava region. The offender was preparing coordinates for a new Russian missile attack on the defense and critical infrastructure of Myrhorod.

According to the investigation, the enemy hoped to "cover" most of the power substations supplying the district center with ballistics.

The priority targets of the racists were also the locations of mobile fire groups and reserve command posts of Ukrainian troops.

To adjust the attack, the FSB recruited a local handyman via Telegram.

On the instructions of the occupiers, the agent searched the city for power facilities and buildings near which the Defense Forces personnel were located.

During his reconnaissance missions, he marked the locations of such "targets" on Google maps and passed them on to his supervisor, an officer of the FSB border guard department in the Pskov region.

The SBU exposed the enemy accomplice in advance and detained him red-handed when he was photographing the perimeter of one of the reserve locations of the Defense Forces.

The SBU also took comprehensive measures to secure the facilities that were in the area of spy reconnaissance.

At the scene, the SBU seized a smartphone with evidence of working for the enemy.

The SBU investigators served the agent a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
