During the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, Ruslan joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of an engineer platoon in the 30th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi.

Unfortunately, on June 25, 2023, Ruslan Braslavskyi was killed during a combat mission near the village of Pryvillia, Soledar city community, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region.
