He participated in battles in Chernihiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Near Popasna, Dmytro was seriously injured and underwent long-term treatment in Spain. He recovered and returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this time as a squad leader - commander of a combat vehicle.

On April 3, 2024, while performing combat missions near the village of Pavlivka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, he was again seriously wounded. He was evacuated and sent for treatment to a hospital in Zhytomyr region, but, unfortunately, a miracle did not happen. On April 18, 2024, Dmytro Popanenko died...

He studied at the Lviv Higher Vocational School of Information and Computer Technology, majoring in mechanics, and later entered the Lviv Cooperative College of Economics and Law.

He did his military service at the 169th training center named after Prince Yaroslav the Wise ("Desna"). After completing his service, he worked in trade in Lviv, and most recently at a tire service.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he joined the Armed Forces and fought in the eastern part of the 150th Brigade.

Unfortunately, on September 25, 2024, Roman Vovk was killed while performing a combat mission in Toretsk, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region... He is survived by his daughter, wife, mother and two sisters.

May the Hero and all the defenders of Ukraine rest in peace!
