SBU serves suspicion notice in absentia to another former Yanukovych minister

The Security Service of Ukraine has collected evidence against former Minister of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko, who is helping Russia finance the war against our country.

The suspect held a "chair" in the government of Yanukovych's time and was a member of the close circle of the fugitive president's family. In February 2014, the ex-minister left for Russia, where he cooperates with the occupiers and is hiding from justice.

According to the case file, in Moscow, Klymenko founded a financial and industrial group that receives profits from the mining industry in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Luhansk region.

According to the investigation, in 2024, the former minister and the CEO of the controlled holding included the local mine Bilorichenska, which was seized by the Nazis, in its structure.

This enterprise is one of the largest in Ukraine in terms of production of high-cost anthracite.

In order to take control of it, Klymenko's accomplice entered into an agreement with the occupying "Minister of Fuel, Energy and Coal Industry of the LPR" to lease the mine with its subsequent purchase.

The "terms of the agreement" also included the transfer of two ancillary enterprises to the ex-minister's company.

After that, the defendants obtained a license from the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use of Russia to develop the mine's coal seams.

To obtain the relevant "permit", Klymenko used his personal connections in the government of the aggressor country and the occupation administration of the Russian Federation in Luhansk region.

The enemy accomplices spend most of their profits on sponsoring the military formations of the racists in the form of paying taxes to the Russian budget.

Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served Klymenko and his accomplice a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28, Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding the aggressor state, i.e. committing intentional acts by prior conspiracy by a group of persons with the aim of harming Ukraine by implementing and supporting decisions of the Russian occupation administration).

Comprehensive measures are being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice for crimes against our country.

The investigation is conducted by SBU officers in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
