🔵 The amendments provide for deprivation of citizenship for naturalized Russians for any political crimes: on the grounds of political and other hatred or enmity, for "extremist", "subversive" and "terrorist" articles, as well as for confidential cooperation with foreigners, assisting the enemy, impact on critical information infrastructure and so on.

In addition, the bill expands the list of grounds for deprivation of citizenship for rape, violent and sexualized acts against children, organizing illegal migration and murder. Most of the violent crimes on this list led to deprivation of citizenship in the previous versions of the law, but now new parts of the Criminal Code articles have been added to these grounds.

Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the State Duma and the main author of the bill, said that these norms do not apply "to citizens of the Russian Federation living in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol", i.e. to residents of the annexed territories of Ukraine.

The SBU Military Counterintelligence and the National Police, with the assistance of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, exposed criminals who misappropriated state funds intended for the repair of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Only one of the documented episodes amounted to UAH 5.4 million.

According to the case, the head of the quality control group of one of the military missions of the Ministry of Defense in the western region of Ukraine was involved in organizing the fraud.

He involved the head of a local company that had received an order for the repair of armored personnel carriers in the scheme. According to the agreement, the contractors were obliged to restore the combat capability of the armored personnel carriers for further tasks at the front.

According to the case file, the military official was supposed to check the technical condition of the repaired vehicles.

However, he turned a blind eye to the fact that the contractors carried out only "superficial cosmetic" work, and the armored vehicles remained unfit for combat use.

Despite the shortcomings, the official signed the certificate of completion, which became the basis for the accrual of budget funds to the contractors' balance sheet.

An engineering and technical forensic examination initiated by law enforcement officers confirmed the faulty technical condition of the armored personnel carriers.

Currently, the official of the Ministry of Defense is suspected under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligence of military service committed under martial law).

The issue of additional qualification of his crimes under Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office) and bringing all participants in the transaction to justice is being resolved.

The offenders face up to 8 years in prison.

The State Duma has already promised that they will not conduct mass checks of smartphones on the streets. However, lawyer Alexei Pryanishnikov believes that the possibility of such checks remains.
