According to the case materials, the suspect installed an improvised explosive device (IED) in a rented apartment in the city center on the order of Russian special services.

After remotely activating the IED, the enemy hoped for a powerful explosion inside the high-rise building, which would lead to deaths and injuries among civilians and spread panic in the region.

SBU officers exposed the racists' plans in advance and detained the terrorist red-handed when he was mining the apartment.

The investigation revealed that the detainee was a 27-year-old resident of Lviv, who was recruited by Russia through a Telegram channel looking for "easy money."

After the recruitment, he came to Rivne, where, using the coordinates of the curator, he took a ready-made IED from the cache and arrived at a pre-rented apartment, which was planned to be blown up.

Pavlo performed the most difficult combat missions, saving more than a dozen lives of his brothers-in-arms and civilians. He was repeatedly awarded for his services to the country.

According to the case file, the convicts are three residents of Donetsk region who were waiting for the full occupation of the region, which they wrote about in their Telegram channels. There they came to the attention of the Russian special services.

One of them is a 43-year-old resident of Ukrainsk, who worked at the local Ukrzaliznytsia station, where he spied on the echelons of the Defense Forces on the orders of the FSB.

His next task was to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) under the railroad tracks to "cut off" the Armed Forces' transportation logistics towards the front line.

However, the Security Service exposed the agent in advance and detained him at the stage of preparing the sabotage in May 2023.

Another convicted person is a 22-year-old daughter of the rector of the UOC (MP) church in Pokrovske, who tracked the routes of Ukrainian troops for the occupiers. To do this, she installed a video camera under the dome of the church.

Another offender is a 34-year-old Ukrzaliznytsia employee from the town of Rodynske who passed on to the FSB the locations of bridges used by Ukrainian army columns moving to the eastern front.

Based on the evidence collected by the SBU investigators, the court found the perpetrators guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in Donetsk, Luhansk and Cherkasy regions under the supervision of the Donetsk and Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Offices.
