SBU detains Russian game agents who adjusted fire on Ukraine from their relatives' accounts

The SBU CI detained two more agents of Russian military intelligence (better known as GRU) who were preparing missile and drone strikes of the Nazis in the northern regions of Ukraine.

According to the case file, the suspects were two residents of Pryluky district. The Russian secret service recruited them remotely when they were looking for "quick money" on Telegram channels. Their main task was to find and transmit the coordinates of the Defense Forces in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

To keep their communication with the occupiers under wraps, the agents communicated with the Russian supervisor through the accounts of their family members.

According to the investigation, in order to spy on the objects of the Defense Forces, the traitors had to install hidden video cameras near the relevant buildings with recording on flash drives.

In addition to spying on the locations of Ukrainian soldiers, the defendants tried to establish the routes of movement and combat positions of mobile fire groups guarding the airspace in northern Ukraine.

The SBU CI exposed both agents in advance, documented their crimes and detained them before they purchased the mini-surveillance cameras.

During the search, the SBU seized cell phones with evidence of work for the Russian game.

The SBU investigators served both detainees a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The offenders are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted by SBU officers in Chernihiv region under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Контррозвідка СБУ завчасно викрила обох агенток, задокументувала їхні злочини і затримала до того як вони придбали мінікамери відеоспостереження.

Під час обшуку у затриманих вилучено мобільні телефони із доказами роботи на російське гру.

Слідчі Служби безпеки повідомили обом затриманим про підозру за ч. 2 ст. 111 Кримінального кодексу України (державна зрада, вчинена в умовах воєнного стану).

Зловмисниці перебувають під вартою. Їм загрожує довічне ув’язнення з конфіскацією майна.

Комплексні заходи проводили співробітники СБУ в Чернігівській області за процесуального керівництва обласної прокуратури.
