The accusations led many countries to suspend funding for the organization, but many have since resumed it, citing the dire humanitarian situation in the sector.

In April, an independent panel of experts reviewed UNRWA's activities and stated that Israel "has yet to provide evidence of its allegations" that a significant number of agency staff are members of terrorist organizations, and asserted that UNRWA has "robust" policies that "ensure staff neutrality."
