Today we have a new version of the Ukrainian spelling, which came into force on May 23, 2024.

What was it before?

The publication of Ivan Kotliarevsky's Aeneid was a historic event in the development of the new Ukrainian literary language. The author recorded the names of about 100 dishes and drinks. This work also names things of Ukrainian everyday life: women's and men's clothing, dishes, fabrics, tools, weapons, musical instruments, rituals, dances, games... The living spoken Ukrainian language was recorded for the first time in its richness and power.

This powerful wave shook the linguistic consciousness of Ukrainians. Writers tried to capture the living language of the people rather than follow the ancient spelling. This resulted in the emergence of about 50 (!) different spelling systems between 1798 and 1905.

А що було до цього?

Історичною подією в розвитку нової української літературної мови є видання «Енеїди» Івана Котляревського. Автор зафіксував назви близько 100 страв і напоїв. Також у цьому творі названо речі українського побуту: одяг жінок та чоловіків, посуд, тканини, знаряддя праці, зброя, музичні інструменти, обряди, танці, ігри… Жива розмовна українська мова вперше зафіксована у своєму багатстві та силі.

Ця потужна хвиля сколихнула мовну свідомість українців. Письменники намагалися зафіксувати живу мову народу, а не йти за давнім написанням. Наслідком цього стала поява близько 50 (!) різних правописних систем у період від 1798 до 1905 року.

🚸 This shelter will work not only for the gymnasium, but also for the kindergarten located nearby. Today, the preschoolers were the first visitors to the newly equipped shelter. They had their "Summer Readings" there.

👩‍🏫 The shelter in Chernihiv region is the third one that the Foundation has built and equipped. The first two are already operating in Poltava region. Nine more facilities are in the process of being restored - in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipro and Sumy regions.

"We did not prepare our children to study in shelters under the sound of Russian missiles exploding. But we have to do everything we can to ensure that the war does not affect their education, deprive them of their childhood and live communication with their peers and friends.

The battery contains four PAC-3 missiles, as opposed to the previous version of the PAC-2, which contains only one.
