Recruits undergo CPE in training centers or training battalions. These structures have the status of military units, to which the newly recruited servicemen are enrolled.

Basic training lasts 30 days. Classes include theoretical and practical components, as well as independent training. The latter is conducted at the time specified in the daily schedule under the guidance of the instructors.

The training consists of three courses: an introductory course, an individual training course, and a course on how to act as part of a unit.

The CPE is designed to increase the effectiveness of actions and survival of personnel in combat conditions, conditions of the consequences of shelling, regardless of their future position. Recruits acquire the primary knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform their duties and obtain the military specialty of "rifleman".

After the PES, recruits are assigned to a military unit or, if necessary, undergo additional professional training. At the military unit, they also undergo team-building exercises with the participation of their fellow soldiers.

Hennadiy was seriously wounded, but continued to fight. To avoid being captured, he blew himself up along with several Russian soldiers.

Thanks to his heroic deed, his comrades were able to escape from the encirclement and return to theirs.

The defender was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree and the "Ilovaysk Cross".
