In 2016-2020, he took part in the ATO/JFO as part of the 46th separate assault battalion "Donbas" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. During his service, he received awards: "For bravery in battle", "For participation in the battle for the Svitlodarsk bulge", "ATO participant", "For participation in the anti-terrorist operation".

After the full-scale invasion, he returned to the Armed Forces again. This time, Viktor fought against the occupiers in the ranks of the 16th separate motorized infantry battalion "Poltava", which is subordinated to the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade. He held the position of senior mortar gunner in a mortar battery.

"Viktor was a true patriot, a warrior, a reliable comrade and a good man. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the heroes," wrote the deceased's sister Oksana.

Після повномасштабного вторгнення знову повернувся до ЗСУ. Цього разу Віктор воював проти окупантів у лавах 16-го окремого мотопіхотного батальйону «Полтава», який підпорядковується 58-ій окремій мотопіхотній бригаді. Обіймав посаду старшого навідника міномета у мінометній батареї.
