The situation with the temporary US budget will not stop the assistance to Ukraine that was announced earlier, says Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko.
"Now it is about $1.6 billion for defense and $1.23 billion in direct budget support, as well as funds for humanitarian and energy projects.
Instead, the US government's shutdown could have a negative impact on the implementation of current programs for Ukraine," Nikolenko said.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova emphasizes that the Congress and the Biden administration made sure that the previous budget funds for Ukraine were transitional.
"The funds are available. The government will work, so nothing threatens the supply of weapons and equipment that was approved earlier," the diplomat added.
According to Nikolenko, the Ukrainian government is actively working with its American partners to ensure that the new US budget decision, which will be developed over the next 45 days, includes new funds to help Ukraine.
"Support for Ukraine remains unwaveringly strong within the U.S. Administration, in both parties and chambers of the U.S. Congress, and most importantly, among the American people," he added.

Ситуація із тимчасовим бюджетом США не зупинить допомогу Україні, про яку було оголошено раніше, — речник МЗС Олег Ніколенко.
"Зараз це близько $1,6 млрд на оборонку та $1,23 млрд прямої бюджетної підтримки, а також кошти на гуманітарні та енергетичні проєкти.
Натомість шатдаун американського уряду міг би мати негативний вплив на втілення поточних програм для України", — говорить Ніколенко.
Пані посол України в США Оксана Маркарова наголошує, що Конгрес та адміністрація президента Байдена подбали, щоб кошти попереднього бюджету на допомоги Україні були перехідними.
"Кошти є. Уряд працюватиме, тому нічого не загрожує поставкам зброї і обладнання, які ухвалені раніше", — додала дипломат.
За словами Ніколенка, українська влада активно працює із американськими партнерами, аби нове бюджетне рішення США, яке буде напрацьоване протягом наступних 45 днів, включало нові кошти для допомоги Україні.
"Підтримка України залишається непохитно міцною як в Адміністрації США, так і в обидвох партіях і палатах Конгресу США, а головне — серед американського народу", — додав він.
