He was recruited by a staff member of the 316th Intelligence Center of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (better known as GRU), who introduced himself as Sergei Privalov.

The traitor was then given the pseudonym "Richard" and assigned key tasks of intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine.

The agent collected information on foreign military assistance to the National Guard units, in particular, on the combat training of Ukrainian soldiers.

The SBU military counterintelligence gradually documented the criminal actions of the enemy agent and detained him on an attempt to transfer secret information to a Russian game.

After a lengthy investigation and a thorough examination of all the facts of the offender's illegal activities, the court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason) and sentenced him to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SBU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against our state.

🔹 За даними слідства, 25 травня 2023 року о 23:55 голова одного з районних судів Київської області, керуючи автомобілем «Lexus ES350» в стані алкогольного сп’яніння, здійснив наїзд на військовослужбовця Національної гвардії, який перебував на блокпосту. У результаті ДТП військовослужбовець загинув на місці.
