The criminals created a specialized Internet platform and a Telegram bot that leaked passport data, phone and car numbers belonging to residents of different regions of Ukraine.

To gain access to electronic databases, customers purchased a "subscription" to the relevant Internet resources.

The dealers offered to purchase a "subscription" for a month costing up to USD 200.

Specially created Telegram channels were used to search for customers, and payment was received on crypto wallets.

According to intelligence, among the potential customers of Internet services were representatives of Russian special services who were looking for confidential information about members of the Defense Forces.

As a result of investigative and operative actions, the organizer of the criminal scheme was detained.

It was an entrepreneur from Cherkasy who purchased specialized server equipment for collecting and processing personal data.

He involved two residents of the capital in illegal activities, who helped him with the creation and administration of online services.

During the searches at the offenders' residences, the SBU found computer equipment and other material evidence of the crime.

The organizer of the scheme was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized sale of restricted information stored in electronic computers protected in accordance with the current legislation).

The issues of choosing a type of detention and serving a notice of suspicion to the offender and his accomplices are being settled.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The operation was conducted by the SBU under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
