SBU and National Police expose 8 Russian accomplices who were going to "revive" the USSR in Ukraine on the enemy's instructions
The SBU and the National Police foiled an attempt by Russia to destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine by creating neo-communist cells in 8 regions of our country.
As a result of complex measures, eight accomplices of racists were exposed in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions.
The task of these defendants was to create cells of supporters of the Soviet Union in their regions and further use this core to undermine the situation on the ground.
It was established that they acted under the supervision of a lecturer at the Naval Academy from St. Petersburg.
The defendants created their own channels in Telegram and TikTok, through which they sought like-minded people to join the so-called "organizing committee of the Ukrainian SSR".
Also, using online platforms, their administrators spread Soviet symbols, agitated for the creation of party "cells" and called for ignoring Ukrainian legislation.
The investigation found that the defendants were ideological supporters of racism who expected a complete occupation of Ukraine.
The linguistic examination initiated by the SBU confirmed the facts of criminal actions aimed at undermining the socio-political situation in our country.
During the searches of the suspects' residences, the SBU seized smartphones and computer equipment used to spread Kremlin propaganda.
Based on the seized evidence, eight organizers of the hostile underground were served a notice of suspicion in connection with the crimes committed under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
◾ Article 28(2), Article 109(2) (public calls for violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, as well as distribution of materials calling for such actions committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy);
◾ paras. 1, 2 Art. 436-1 (production, distribution of communist, Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes committed by an organized group with the use of mass media);
◾ paras. 1, 2, 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
The offenders face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was conducted by the SBU officers in Kyiv city and Kyiv, Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions jointly with the investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv city under the supervision of the Kyiv City and Cherkasy Region Prosecutor's Offices.

On the instructions of the enemy, while performing cash transactions, the suspect paid special attention to visitors in military uniforms and with signs of injuries sustained in hostilities. When she identified such customers, she immediately reported to her FSB supervisor.

SBU cyber specialists exposed the agent, documented her crimes and detained her.

The offender is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
