During searches at the suspects' places of work and residence, the SBU found cash:

▪️ over USD 250 thousand and EUR 16 thousand.

In UAH equivalent, this amounts to over UAH 17 million.

According to the investigation, in order to guarantee their clients a deferral from military service or deregistration, the offenders forged medical reports about the men's allegedly serious diagnoses.

The investigation established that the participants of the scheme acted in collusion and clear coordination with each other and had a well-established algorithm of interaction: from finding clients to selling them false documents.

The defendants also offered the evaders a "reservation" for money through fictitious employment in one of the state institutions of the capital.

The law enforcement documented the crimes and detained the organizer of the scheme red-handed when he was receiving a new tranche of bribe.

The detainee and two of his accomplices - a lawyer and a cardiologist - were served a notice of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ part 3 of Article 369-2 (abuse of influence);
▪️ part 5 of Article 27 and part 4 of Article 354 (aiding and abetting bribery of an employee of an enterprise, institution or organization committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).

The offenders are in custody.

The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all participants in the illegal activity.

The offenders face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

SBU exposes Russian military intelligence group that adjusted shelling of Kyiv and conducted sabotage in Odesa region

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed an agent group of Russian military intelligence (better known as "Grupa"), which was engaged in adjusting Russian air attacks on Kyiv and sabotage in southern Ukraine.

According to the case, the cell consisted of four people:

▪️ two of them were direct agents and executors of "orders";
▪️ one was a "liaison" through whom agents received instructions;
▪️ Another was the direct supervisor of the perpetrators, a staff member of the Russian GRU, Maxim Chachin.

The SBU CI detained the executing agents in February 2025.

Since then, comprehensive measures have been taken to identify other members of the hostile cell and document their contacts.

As it became known during the investigation, an employee of the Russian GRU involved in subversive activities a former lecturer of a well-known Kyiv university, who in 2021 moved to Russia and began cooperating with the occupiers.

After the outbreak of a full-scale war, the professor put her former student, a 27-year-old Kyiv resident who supported Russia's armed aggression, in direct agent contact with the enemy.

The woman then introduced him to another resident of the capital of Ukraine who joined the agent group. He was a 40-year-old ex-military man who had information about the locations of certain units of the Defense Forces.

Together, they went around the relevant locations, marked them on Google maps, and sent them to the curator to prepare missile and drone attacks in Kyiv.

Later, the agents moved to Odesa, where they first "laid low" and then set fire to two mobile phone towers and several power substations on the enemy's orders.

The suspects were also preparing to commit terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices, but the SBU prevented this.

SBU investigators have now sent to court an indictment against both agents under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law);
▪️ part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 113 (sabotage committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law);

▪️ part 2 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives, by prior conspiracy).

The offenders are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

A notice of suspicion is also being prepared to the curator of these agents from the Russian Federation and their "liaison".
