According to the investigation, the convicts are residents of the temporarily occupied part of eastern Ukraine who joined the occupation groups of the Southern Military District of the aggressor country.

One of them is a paramedic from Makiivka who, as part of the 5th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation, evacuated wounded racists from the battlefield near Kurakhove.

Another is a resident of Donetsk. He was part of the 91st Rifle Regiment of the occupiers and was building fortifications on the left bank of the Kherson region. Later he was transferred to the front line of the eastern front, where he was captured near Zelenivka.

Two more are residents of Rovenky, Luhansk region. One of them joined the occupiers before the outbreak of full-scale war. Since the end of 2022, the traitors have been part of the 2nd and 85th motorized rifle brigades of the Russian armed forces.
