The SBU Military Counterintelligence, with the assistance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained in Lviv region a "double" agent of Russia, who simultaneously worked for the FSB and Russian military intelligence (better known as "game").

According to the case file, the enemy accomplice was an instructor at the Yavoriv training ground.

His task from the GRU was to prepare terrorist attacks against the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who, together with their units, were undergoing combat training at the local training center of the Defense Forces.

It is documented that the agent received a "carte blanche" from his supervisor to choose the method of liquidation of the Ukrainian military.

Thus, according to one of the "scenarios", the traitor was supposed to make an improvised explosive device (IED) and then covertly plant it in the headquarters or training building.

The agent was also developing a variant of using his colleague in the dark, who was supposed to bring camouflaged explosives to the training location of commanders.

Another method of assassination considered by the mole was a missile strike by the Rashists at the coordinates of the current concentration of Ukrainian defenders at the training ground.

The SBU military counterintelligence exposed the hostile intentions in advance, documented them and detained the traitor when he was preparing elimination proposals for his handler.

The investigation also revealed the traitor's contacts with the FSB handler. On his instructions, the agent collected information on the number and specifics of units training at the Yavoriv training ground.

During the searches, 3 phones with SIM cards were seized from the detainee, which he used to hide his contacts with the occupiers.

Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The offender is in custody without the right to be released on bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted jointly with the SBU investigators in Lviv region under the supervision of the Lviv Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region.
