The offender is in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In particular, the theses being spread include: practicing Kremlin narratives about the war in Ukraine; emphasis on violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country; information campaigns against the military and political leadership of Ukraine; theses about the "loss of subjectivity" during negotiations in the international arena; spreading decadent sentiments camouflaged as allegedly neutral expert assessments that actually work in Moscow's interests, etc.

The introduction and discussion of these narratives within our country is part of Russia's strategy. And the enemy's attempts are aimed at undermining the socio-political situation in Ukraine, reducing the level of international support, creating the illusion of protest moods, and distorting data on the situation at the front.

The SBU reminds that such actions in favor of the aggressor state bear signs of criminal offenses and fall under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In particular, they can be classified as high treason committed in wartime. And the punishment for this type of crime can be life imprisonment.

Thus, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the Security Service of Ukraine has opened almost 2.5 thousand criminal proceedings against Internet agitators who spread anti-Ukrainian content as part of countering Russian information aggression. As part of these cases, more than 1700 people were served suspicion notices under various articles of the Criminal Code. To date, more than 800 court verdicts have entered into force.

This includes 162 criminal proceedings in which 62 propagandists and media professionals have been notified of suspicion. Of these, 16 are suspected under Article 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason). The courts have already handed down 10 guilty verdicts against media propagandists.

The Security Service constantly monitors the information space, neutralizes cases of pro-Russian propaganda and regularly brings those involved to justice.

At the same time, the SBU calls on citizens to be vigilant: to observe information hygiene, not to engage in the spread of Russian narratives and not to respond to hostile provocations and information injections.
