The investigation found that to implement this plan, the suspects stayed in a hostel near the facility, purchased four cans of gasoline for arson, and kept explosives disguised as a fire extinguisher in a pre-prepared cache.

The SBU and the National Police detained the criminals at the stage of preparation for the attack.

They were traced back to another crime - the murder of a volunteer from Odesa region on January 20 this year. The perpetrators set fire to the local activist's car near his home, and when he went out to put out the fire, they activated an IED hidden in a backpack lying nearby.

Mobile phones with evidence of the crimes were seized from the detainees.

According to the investigation, the perpetrators were three drug addicts aged 23 to 45, as well as their 46-year-old accomplice, who had previously served a sentence for theft and robbery.

It was established that the repeat offender acted separately from the rest of the group and was responsible for manufacturing IEDs and planting them in caches.

The detainees were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act resulting in the death of a person).

The criminals are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Odesa region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The St. Petersburg City Court sentenced 29-year-old Kharkov resident Ivan Zabavsky to 11 years in a strict regime colony in the espionage case (Article 276 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by Mediazona.

The prosecutor's office demanded 13 years of imprisonment for him. The trial was held in closed mode, and officially the details of the charges are unknown.

However, the Ukrainian was able to tell about the torture, a source familiarized with his note told Mediazona. In it, Zabavsky described "long and terrible ten months in captivity, when a day seemed like a year, when they beat him at least twice, if not three times a day.

Ivan could not find his mother due to the lack of communication in Tavolzhanka, so he went to the village as a driver with a cargo of humanitarian aid.
