These same citizens depend on the budget, which is formed by taxes, including those paid by Ukrainian companies. And why is no one outraged that all Ukrainian citizens, when purchasing goods or services in Ukraine, absolutely calmly pay VAT, income tax, all possible types of income taxes, and military duty, which are ultimately sewn into the price of the goods?

Thesis 2: VAT on foreign parcels will harm the military and volunteers.

This position is manipulative: military goods, including drones and electronics for the front line, are already exempt from taxes. In addition, industrial batches of goods are not imported through parcel channels. If it is really important, it is also possible to exclude certain items from taxation when imported in parcels. All that is needed is an amendment to the draft law amending the Customs Code.

Thesis 3: The work of postal operators will become more complicated.

The authors of the draft law propose a mechanism for collecting tax through the IOSS platform, which is practiced in the EU. This is exactly what all Ukrainian postal operators and businesses have suggested. It provides for the payment of VAT by the seller, which does not complicate the work of customs or postal operators.

Thesis 4: The introduction of VAT on parcels will have a negative impact on veterans' businesses.

According to the entrepreneur, 99% of the goods transported in parcels are ordinary consumer goods that do not affect the situation at the front or the business of veterans. Veterans engaged in real business need other preferences.

Thesis 5: The purpose of the draft law is only to tax consumers.

The main goal of the draft law is to ensure equal conditions for Ukrainian business and foreign companies, eliminate discrimination, save jobs and support the country's economy in times of war. Last year alone, the budget lost UAH 13 billion, which could have been used to purchase, for example, 500,000 missile drones for the army.
