The SBU neutralized a criminal group in Kyiv region that was selling wholesale consignments of hard drugs and psychotropics abroad.

The SBU seized over 20 tons of precursors for the manufacture of "goods" and almost 150 kg of psychotropic substance - mephedrone - totaling over UAH 30 million.

During a multi-stage special operation in March this year, the SBU detained the organizer of a criminal group who tried to smuggle 15 kg of psychotropic substances abroad.

The detainee was a former officer of the National Police's drug crime unit.

He involved his former colleague in the illegal activity, who helped him find smugglers for the covert transportation of prohibited substances through the so-called "green".

At the final stage of the special operation, SBU officers detained a third member of the group in Kyiv region, who provided "communication" between the drug dealers and their accomplices.

According to the investigation, the offenders received "goods" for sale from two drug laboratories in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, which produced industrial volumes of mephedrone.

Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served the three detainees a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit medicines).

They are currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all persons involved in the exposed drug trafficking. The offenders face up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Служба безпеки нейтралізувала на Київщині злочинне угруповання, яке збувало оптові партії важких наркотиків і психотропів за кордон.

У зловмисників вилучено понад 20 тонн прекурсорів для виготовлення «товару» і майже 150 кг психотропної речовини – мефедрон на загальну суму понад 30 млн грн.

Під час багатоетапної спецоперації у березні цього року Служба безпеки затримала організатора злочинної групи, який намагався переправити за кордон 15 кг психотропів.

Затриманим виявився експосадовець підрозділу Національної поліції по боротьбі наркозлочинністю.

До незаконної діяльності він залучив свого колишнього колегу, який допомагав йому підшукувати контрабандистів для прихованого перевезення заборонених речовин через так звану «зеленку».

На завершальному етапі спецоперації співробітники СБУ затримали на Київщині третього учасника угруповання, який забезпечував «комунікацію» наркоділків зі спільниками.

За даними слідства, фігуранти отримували «товар» для продажу з двох нарколабораторій у Київській та Житомирській областях, які виготовляли промислові обсяги мефедрону.

На підставі зібраних доказів слідчі Служби безпеки повідомили трьом затриманим про підозру за ч. 3 ст. 305 Кримінального кодексу України (контрабанда наркотичних засобів, психотропних речовин, їх аналогів чи прекурсорів або фальсифікованих лікарських засобів).

Наразі вони під вартою. Триває розслідування для притягнення до відповідальності всіх осіб, причетних до викритого наркобізнесу. Зловмисникам загрожує до 12 років тюрми.

Спецоперацію проводили за процесуального керівництва Офісу Генерального прокурора.
