The offender was a resident of Mariupol, who moved to the then-occupied Melitopol after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

There, he began to cooperate with the Nazis, for which, at the end of April 2022, he was appointed a "patrol policeman" of the local unit of the occupation "Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs".

In this "position", the offender took an active part in the punitive raids of the Russian invaders against members of the resistance movement in the region.

It was established that the collaborator was instructed to identify the locations of Ukrainian underground representatives for further raids. In particular, the enemy was interested in a movement called the Yellow Ribbon.

In July 2022, the collaborator, realizing the inevitability of punishment for his crimes, decided to "resign" from the pseudo-agency and moved to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the offender arrived in Kyiv as an IDP, where he tried to hide from justice with his friends.

In the course of complex measures, the SBU and the National Police established his whereabouts and detained him.

Based on the collected evidence, the offender was served a notice of suspicion under Part 7 Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration).

He is currently in custody. The offender faces up to 15 years in prison.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Zaporizzhya region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.

На підставі зібраних доказів фігуранту повідомлено про підозру за ч. 7 ст. 111-1 Кримінального кодексу України (колабораційна діяльність).

Наразі він під вартою. Зловмиснику загрожує до 15 років ув’язнення.

The defender was buried in the cemetery of the Zabarivka neighborhood in his native Chernihiv.

Andriy is survived by his parents, wife and brother.
