The SBU jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation and the State Border Guard Service exposed another collaborator as a result of stabilization measures in the liberated Kherson.

It was a local border guard who voluntarily cooperated with Russian invaders during the temporary occupation of the city.

For this, in July 2022, he was appointed an "operative officer of the operational department" in the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90, which was seized by the aggressor at that time.

In this "position" he participated in repressions against local residents to suppress the resistance movement in the region.

After the liberation of the city, the offender tried to "lie low" and thus avoid justice. However, SBU and DBR officers established his whereabouts and detained him.

Based on the collected evidence, the offender was served a notice of suspicion under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration). The issue of choosing custody as a form of detention is being decided.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The offender faces up to 15 years in prison.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region jointly with the State Bureau of Investigations and the State Border Guard Service under the procedural supervision of the Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.

Після звільнення міста зловмисник намагався «залягти на дно» і тим самим уникнути правосуддя. Втім, співробітники СБУ і ДБР встановили його місцезнаходження та затримали.

На підставі зібраних доказів фігуранту повідомлено про підозру за ч. 7 ст. 111-1 Кримінального кодексу України (колабораційна діяльність). Вирішується питання щодо обрання йому запобіжного заходу у виді тримання під вартою.

Триває розслідування для встановлення всіх обставин злочину. Зловмиснику загрожує до 15 років позбавлення волі.

Комплексні заходи проводили співробітники СБУ в Херсонській області спільно з ДБР і Держприкордонслужбою за процесуального керівництва прокуратури в сфері оборони Південного регіону.
